SHOPPING

Saint Cyprien has a beautiful old town which winds uphill towards the 12th century belltower and the abbey church which dominate the town. It is well served with restaurants, shops, a boulangerie and a thriving local market every Sunday.

LOCAL ATTRACTIONS

There are numerous places of interest and activities in the Dordogne area close to Saint-Cyprien, from exploring old castles to visiting prehistoric caves. Among our favourites are or canoe trips along the river, visiting the prehistoric paintings in the caves at Font de Gaume and the village and castle at Beynac, all in close proximity.

Here for the third time - must be something draws us back, we have now stayed in all three "Maisons", all equally lovely, the swimming, the food, the ambiance, the history, the garden, the peace, the tranquillity, the hosts. All this adds up - and we will be back!
    Liz and Les Thompson
Gosh, Can't believe our fortnight is over already! We have loved every minute of our stay at Rocher Rouge. We quickly got used to the weird sounds - the "wolves" howling ,Rogets' cockerel, the owls hooting, the buzzards mewing (or whatever they do!). Lovely memories, and will definitely be back in the future.

Our first experience of a Gite in France. What a high standard to compare others to. Dordogne is wonderful - scenery, history, even prehistory - a little of everything. Wonderful week.

Notes

Stainless steel pans and a set of kitchen knives help with food preparation, a coffee maker is provided in each gite.

Each gite has totally independent services for gas, electricity and water (including hot water). The cost of servicing the unit after your departure is included in the hire charges quoted, as is gas and electricity:- linen and towels (but not pool towels) are provided.
